In collaboration with the Schola Cantorum Jubilate of Gozo, the University of London Chamber Choir (ULCC) will perform in Malta. The ULCC is a dynamic and enthusiastic choir of some 26 singers, formed of students and former students from colleges of the University of London. It is a diverse and international ensemble.
The choir performs regularly in London and other parts of the UK. Following its highly successful and widely acclaimed tour of northern Italy in 2012, ULCC will be travelling to Malta and Gozo where they will perform three concerts.
This concert is part of a wider campaign to raise funds for the restoration of the priceless Baroque organ currently housed in the church. This campaign has already seen several local artists contribute to this cause, but a lot more is needed to help this project.
About the ULCC
“One of London’s most exciting young chamber choirs.” That’s how Aled Jones introduced ULCC on BBC Radio 3’s The Choir in April 2012.
The University of London is a student society of the University of London Union (ULU), from who they receive their funding. Members consist of students who are studying at (or who have recently left) a college of the University of London. The choir is going from strength to strength and in recent years they have been very busy with various opportunities. In 2011 ULCC released their first CD ‘Simple Pictures’, and in 2012 ULCC went abroad on a tour to Northern Italy.
ULCC on tour
Following their success of their first foreign tour in 2012, this summer the ULCC are travelling to Malta and Gozo where they will be hosted by the Schola Cantorum Jubilate.
